Welcome Socialism

I CANNOT believe that Obama voters do not see that they are voting for socialism. What the heck! Does no one see that? I am so sad to think that pro-life, pro-family, pro-make your way in America, honest to goodness people are so dumbed down to not see that we are in BIG trouble if he becomes President of the United States of AMERICA!

Barack Obama is a socialist. We were pretty sure this was the case after he made his remarks about how bitter people in small towns cling to religion. As Bill Kristol points out, this is very similar to Karl Marx’ line about religion being the opiate of the masses, if not as eloquent as the original German “Die Religion … ist das Opium des Volkes.” Senator Joe Lieberman reinforced this, observing, “I’d hesitate to say he’s a Marxist, but he’s got some positions that are far to the left of me and I think mainstream America.” James Joyner

Catching up on my blog. It is pouring down rain here today - thank you Lord! The down side of that, is that I am at home today and it is making me depressed, sleepy and unmotivated.

So, all I can muster up today are some quotes:

When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a way so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice. Indian Proverb

If you were doomed to live the same life over and over again for eternity, would you choose the life you are living now? The question is interesting enough, but I've always thought the point of asking it is really the unspoken, potentially devastating follow-up question: That is, if the answer is no, then why are you living the life you are living now? Stop making excuses, and do something about it! William Alexander

Love to all and have a great week! I will be off to Emmaus tomorrow evening until Sunday and then we will be in Florida for Fall Break! - Can't wait!

Franklin County Leadership

I have been very blessed by being able to be a part of Franklin County Leadership this year. Today was neat in that we got to meet the Mayor and several County leaders and not so neat in that we toured the Waste Water Facility and the Water Treatment Facility right after lunch.

Emma's New Career

Emma got the chance to deejay at the local radio station for 2 hours last night - I think she has found her nitch (sp?). She did great and her and her friend Maria were hilarious to listen to. Kids tell no lies and spare no truths!

Great Weekend

Well, Chris took me to North Carolina for the weekend and we had a great time. While he worked Saturday, I hiked 5 miles up Blood Mountain at Vogel State Park in Georgia. It was wonderful, no cell phone, just me and nature! I felt so good afterwards. The rest of the weekend we ate good food and looked at antiques we can't afford.......

Changes

Well, you know our lives are everchanging and so I thought I would update you guys on a few of them:

I am no longer typing from home - YEAH!!!! I know some of you girls out there think I am crazy for not wanting to do it anymore, but 11 years of it is enough for me!

I am phasing out my work for Christ the King (working 2 days a week right now).

I am going to be substitute teaching for the school system full-time (Lord willing) and am finally going to be able to be on my kids' schedules.

Chris and I start 12 week classes on Sept. 29th in order to be qualified to be a short-ter foster home for the State of Tennessee.

Well, there ya' go. Pray for us as we embark down a different road. Love to all!!
