Changes

Well, you know our lives are everchanging and so I thought I would update you guys on a few of them:

I am no longer typing from home - YEAH!!!! I know some of you girls out there think I am crazy for not wanting to do it anymore, but 11 years of it is enough for me!

I am phasing out my work for Christ the King (working 2 days a week right now).

I am going to be substitute teaching for the school system full-time (Lord willing) and am finally going to be able to be on my kids' schedules.

Chris and I start 12 week classes on Sept. 29th in order to be qualified to be a short-ter foster home for the State of Tennessee.

Well, there ya' go. Pray for us as we embark down a different road. Love to all!!

From the Bible(NIV):Matthew 7:1-51

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Matthew 7:1212

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

"Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" 1 Samuel 16:6

Ephesians 4:31-32

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

I was studying this scripture this morning and heard a great quote while researching it- "Bitterness is drinking poison and expecting someone else to die from it." Isn't that so true! If you are holding on to any bitterness or anger (i.e. grudge) let it go today! Today is a new day - why not lay it all down at the foot of the cross. Also, if you think this isn't an issue for you, check out what my dear sister Leslie sent me about it:

This is John Wesley’s commentary on those verses…
Verse 31
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Let all bitterness — The height of settled anger, opposite to kindness, verse 32.

And wrath — Lasting displeasure toward the ignorant, and them that are out of the way, opposite to tenderheartedness. {I found this interesting}

And anger — The very first risings of disgust at those that injure you, opposite to forgiving one another. {WOW}

And clamour — Or bawling. "I am not angry," says one; "but it is my way to speak so." Then unlearn that way: it is the way to hell.

And evil speaking — Be it in ever so mild and soft a tone, or with ever such professions of kindness. Here is a beautiful retrogradation, beginning with the highest, and descending to the lowest, degree of the want of love.

Verse 32
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. As God, showing himself kind and tenderhearted in the highest degree, hath forgiven you.

What a weekend!

We had a GREAT, but VERY busy weekend! I had my first session of Leadership Franklin County on Saturday from 8-3 and then we tried to just hang out the rest of the day - which means I cleaned house......

Today Chris and I got to teach the first 6th grade Sunday School class of the year - which was SO great. The kids are awesome! Then we quickly drove to Murfreesboro to eat lunch with my sister and see the Hud-Man and drove back for Abby to go visit the senior shut-in's at our church and go to youth group with Jacob - WHEW~

I am worn out, but excited at all that we have going on. You all know that our family likes to be busy and active - that is just the way God made us - so things are good. Hope everyone has a wonderful week full of blessings and moments of joy!

Love it!

"I've learned quickly, these past few days, that if you're not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone. But here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country." -- Excerpt from Palin's speech.

My Point EXACTLY......

Celebrity mag Us Weekly releases a scathing cover of McCain VP pick Sarah Palin — but two months ago it was all roses for the Obamas.
Why, our media isn't biased at all is it?
